Lanzarote Weather Guide
Lanzarote is a unique paradise in the Atlantic Ocean, otherwise referred to as the Hawaii of Europe. So you can imagine… Great Lanzarote Weather! Thanks to its tropical climate due to Trade winds we enjoy pleasant weather all year round- just like an endless spring.
We have seen many posts on social media groups asking about what kind of weather they would find when on their holidays in Lanzarote- so we thought it would be great to create a sort of ´Lanzarote weather guide´ to advise on what you might expect when visiting Lanzarote.
Primarily we must note that due to the tropical climate the weather tends to change unexpectedly. However, do not worry, by using our guide you are more likely to find the weather you are expecting.
As a general rule, make peace with the sand, you will probably find it in your pockets when you get back home.
North & South Coasts
The north of North of Lanzarote, in picturesque small towns such as Arrieta, Punta Mujeres, Orzola and not to mention La Graciosa, the weather is a bit cooler with a splendid breeze for most of the year, perfect conditions for hiking, biking and outdoor activities. There are also great beaches to enjoy when the weather gets warmer, between June and November, like La Garita, Caleton Blanco and Playa Francesa. The South of the island enjoys the same weather as in Playa Blanca.
Weather in Famara & west coast
Famara is the surfers paradise. The main sight of this town is the splendid 3km beach of Caleta de Famara with its jaw dropping cliff as a backdrop! A small fishermans town on the west coast of Lanzarote. In the town you will find great small restaurants and cafés where you can have a bite to eat and relax after a great day of surfing. The weather is warmest in the west coast of the island from June to November but the best time for surfing is August until October.
Keep in Mind!
We also would risk to say that July tends to be a bit windier than the other summer months. In general Lanzarote enjoys great weather throughout the year, We would advise that you bring some warm clothing for the evening as it may get a bit chilly throughout the year, if visiting Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise you may not use them. You may opt to purchase something once here. Come and discover Lanzarote while staying at one of our properties.
